6 Tips to Cope with Anxiety While Doing Third Level Education

Starting college or doing a postgraduate or master’s degree can be a new and inspiring event. Still, it can also come with some difficulties, especially if you face it since 2020 after Covid Pandemic has changed the world as we used to know it.

According to The Student Wellbeing Survey conducted by the Sinn Fein party,  at least 90% of students struggle with anxiety loneliness, stress and feeling disconnected. 

So yes, almost everybody worldwide, right now, is facing some mental health issue, so do not be too hard on yourself!

1. Don't Be Too Hard On Yourself

Sometimes, you might put too much pressure on yourself without realising it, and being too hard on yourself can cause you mental and physical stress. This can as well lead to thoughts that could interfere with your productivity. Please don’t do it.

2. Change Your Drive

Moving forward and setting goals are two great things in life. Therefore, determining what is driving you forward and what it is that you are setting goals for will help you to set more meaningful and achievable goals that will help in your endeavours.

3. Work Out

Physical activities can help improve your bone and muscle strength and boost your overall health. This also helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently and increase your energy level. Working out is a great way to feel happier.

4. Sleep Well

Sleep is a crucial component of every human’s wellbeing and overall health. Sleep is very important because it enables the body to repair and be ready and fit for another day. Getting adequate rest also helps the heart to function appropriately.

5. Control Your Breathing

Effective breathing can not only provide you with a greater sense of mental clarity, it can also help you sleep better, digest food more effectively, improve your body’s immune response, and reduce stress levels.

6. Seek Help

Seeking help is critical for everyone, as well as our society. Seeking help lowers the cost and impact of illness, allowing more people to survive. It should be seen as a positive action that improves one’s happiness and well-being.
